That i'm about to go on spring break tour with the dartmouth women's rugby club to seattle and vancouver, so I won't get a lot of drawing time in.

tic tac totally awkward

Umm...I'm not sure where this idea came from. Actually I am. There is a fake six pack currently drawn on my stomach in red sharpie and there are also Xs and Os on it. Don't judge.

Simmer down now

that's a quote from my awesome high school us history teacher.

Bad joke

Yo mama so fat, she went to a National Park and someone called her Mount Rushmore.

Sorry guys I'm cracked out.

If you've ever been injured/on crutches

This is pretty funny.

More IPhone

And thus starts the genre. Sorry guys.

Cartoon

Wooo new cartoon. Credit GF'13 for the idea sort of.

Word for thought

The French car company Citroën is known for being dull but reliable. This is sort of ironic, as is the car company's name in general.

Because in French, 'citron' means lemon. And everyone knows you don't want to buy a lemon.

bLITZWAR

There is an epic blitzwar at now in the Kemeny Octagonal Lounge. So there's now a cartoon:

One-panel

Ps, to 'mack on' means to flirt with/hit on with the intention of possibly taking home, if you don't know that.

Wordplay

Dartmouth: Great minds drink alike.

I wish. I have not raged/gone out at all in legit forever. If you want to help remedy this, please visit http://bikeandbuild.org/rider/4017 and click donate.

One more comic

From my whiteboard. Whiteboards are soooo much easier to work on.

On the fly

Some blitz-creative projects when I wasn't quite thinking straight.
My vision of the world is a lot more whimsical than it is...so I've adjusted it in places...I wish I would adjust everything, and also constantly have my mind blown by other people's adjustments and discoveries/taggings.

Oh right. So in a better world, signs might look like this:

And other signs might look like this. Note the handicapped-logo inspiration for the Keystone one. Also the biking one says "COSO" - Council on Student Organizations - Building on Biking (which supports Bike and Build) just got turned into an official Dartmouth student organization. If only we could get an office...

I experimented with self-reflection-style drawing on my mirror.

Below are photos of my floormate's room - his door was unlocked and we were bored, so his furniture somehow got set up perfectly in the handicapped shower...

Finally, my roommate and I may not have locked our door over Thanksgiving break - this is what we came home to:

Proposed Pre-med advising center

Part of the aforementioned "Problems of Pre-Meds" project:

Random other stuff

I like making random stuff - here's a few things:

Foamcore chair

Again, Engs 12, although this chair's not as interesting as the redesign (right now just drawings) is. pics:

More Engs 12 again

We did a lot of awesome projects in this course. I can't believe it's over. But here's another project I worked on with Mike Lewis '11 and Liz Klinger '10:

The Slapstrap, which is basically a modular backpack with velcro straps, and you can move different storage units (like, Ipod, wallet with sliding ID, key/random, etc) along the straps as is convenient. Here's a pic of the prototype:

BIKE-AND-BUILD

WHOA I forgot to say that I'm biking across the country this summer to raise money and awareness for affordable housing. To learn more and to support me in this endeavor, check out http://bikeandbuild.org/rider/4017

For regular updates on the process, check out my other blog, http://busybikingandbuilding.blogspot.com/

And seriously contact me (info on those sites) if you're at all interested or have any questions.

More Engs 12

My last group project was needfinding and overhauling the Dartmouth pre-med system. We did about sixty interviews with students and profs and came up with some really impressive ideas - if you're interested blitz (read: email) me at mads@dartmouth.edu

Fun Poster

Done sorta sloppily but the concept (credit John Renehan- Dartmouth '13) was cool.

Engs Final Project

This is my final project for my Engineering: Design Thinking class at Dartmouth. My partner, Maura Cass '10, and I came up with the concept and made the video, borrowing film from a lot of sources (ok because it's for school).

Anyway, the film is really cool but unfortunately we aren't sure what we are and aren't allowed to do with film that's under the student use policy, so it is not online. If you really really want to see a film about solving the refugee problem, let me know at slickasapenguin@gmail.com

IM hockey tshirt design

My IM hockey team was the "Future IM Champs" - we lost in the finals, but regardless, we deserve tshirts. This is my proposal:

Real Stuff

Here are two semi-cartoons that are for real:

Old stuff - cartoons

Here's a bunch of cartoons that aren't too too self-referential - click on them to make them big enough to read.

Just sayin

That I need a place to publicize my stuff without intruding on people.

Most recent project:

Rewriting the lyrics of "Rehab" by Amy Winehouse to fit Dartmouth

Here's her video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LTPRJqt2z4

Here's my lyrics:

They tried to make me go to BFAB but I said “No, no, no”.
I don’t give a damn but if I’m good-sammed you’ll know, know, know.
I really need to rest, and no I don’t mean get undressed,
He said “Later we can go to BFAB”, but I won’t go, go, go.

I’d rather be, drinking Cutter,
Till I can barely mutter
Cause there’s nothing
There’s nothing you can feed me
That can help more than BG’s gutter.

I don’t need to go to class,
And I don’t want only orange juice in that glass.

UGA’s try to send you down there
I say, “I got no underwear
“I’m gonna, I’m gonna have to boot”.
So I always just step out ‘for air’.
They said “I think you’re dehydrated
“Just hope, you are not cross-faded”.

I won’t ever walk of shame again,
I just ooh I just need a friend,
I’m not gonna blame X factor
Have everyone think I’m off the trend.

It’s not just the light,
And cause I recall last night

They tried to make me go to BFAB but I said “No, no, no”.
I don’t give a damn but if I’m good-sammed you’ll know, know, know.
I really need to rest, and no I don’t mean get undressed,
He said “Later we can go to BFAB”, but I won’t go, go, go.
